I feel that if the patient is terminally ill or is unable to function normally, causing them to have a poor quality of life, then assisted suicide may be a good option. I think if a loved one asked me to assist their suicide, I would not be closed minded about the situation but I would not encourage suicide itself. Rather, I would be spend time with them to make sure that is the decision he/she is willing to make.
