Her mother had an English citizenship.  Many jewish people asked her to teach them english in case they would get a chance to emigrate. Some were so desperate they asked her mother to write letters to try and receive a sponsor in another country. The nazis came after Kristallnacht. They are mad, they came at night, in trucks. They destroyed every Jews home. They destroyed expensive things. They took silver and small valuable things.
