Something about me personally is that I love spending time with my family and friends. One of my favorite things to do is explore coffee shops with my friends. I also enjoy watching TV and movies, I recently started Abbott Elementary, which I highly recommend to those who are pursing education or teaching!

My name is Delphine Sebe. This is my second semester at Mills and I am in the MA/ECE program. This will also be my second semester working in the Infant/Toddler Room at the Children’s School. 

I am originally from Sacramento and my parents were Japanese immigrants. Emotions are generally not expressed very much in the Japanese culture. So as an adult, I’ve been trying to better understand them in general and on a personal level. 

I have a 8-year-old son and I started taking child development classes to better understand/support him, and this is what originally led me to the MA program. It's nice to meet you all and I'm looking forward to this class!

I had a gap between my BA and pursuing Masters, and in that time built a career working in non-profit development which was a passion of mine to redistribute wealth to community focused work. My areas of focus intersect around poverty, child welfare and homelessness. The most transformative experience that set me on course to work in non-profits and has become a guide and inspiration to pursue my degree at Mills happened in undergrad as an AmeriCorp Vista working in a free community based child care and preschool that provided services to families stabilizing from homelessness.
