The east coast of the United States offers excellent fisheries, and the Atlantic striped bass is a popular choice for both commercial and sport fisherman. Morone saxatilis is its Latin name, and it is also popularly known simply as bass, striper, rockfish, or linesides.

It is an eco-friendly choice, since United States fishing regulations mandate sustainable harvesting and management. The current Atlantic bass population is above targeted levels and is not currently overfished.
