CHESS
Chess is an intellectual sport. I love to play chess. My father was the one who taught me to play chess. I used to play chess with my father in the afternoon when I got home from school. When I was an elementary student, I used to participate in a chess competition. The contest is held in the school. The opening program was a musical performance followed by a speech by the principal. Then the pairs started to go on stage. I need to play against many different opponents. Each match will take place in three rounds. The winner of the two rounds will be eligible to participate in the next round. All the students in the school came to watch us play. The atmosphere is both cheerful and tense, and everyone wants to win. The contest takes place within 1 day. Between each match there will be a 10-minute break. I failed to reach the semi-finals. Leaving with many regrets, the contest left me many interesting lessons. It was my first chess competition. Thanks to it, I realize my weaknesses, thereby improving myself every day to achieve better results in the future.
