A long time ago, humans relied on very basic forms of energy. This could include the sun, human muscle, animal muscle, and the burning of crops for warmth. Nowadays, everything has massively upgraded, only not in the best way. We use a whole new energy resource known as fossil fuels. The earth is involving, demands for oil, coal, and gas have increased dramatically. However, fossil fuels aren't the best energy source for the earth.

To create energy such as electricity, fossil fuels are burnt in large power factories. In the presence of oxygen, the heat energy is used to heat up the water, which produces steam that rises and drives a turbine. When burning them, Greenhouse gases are also released into the air creating climate change. The gasses can also lead to death, heart attacks, respiratory disorders, stroke, asthma, and absenteeism.

You might be thinking, how can this affect coastlines? Well, by burning fossil fuels, a gas called carbon dioxide is released to the atmosphere. This can change the chemistry of the ocean by increasing its acidity. This is called ocean acidification, and it has already started.

Climate change can cause affect many things, with weather being one of them. Near the equator, the weather is tropical, meaning that its hot, humid, and rainy. Because of the earth heating up, the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as tsunamis, heatwaves, droughts, and floods are expected to rise much stronger.

When tsunamis and floods happen, the beaches are messed up. All the sand would wound up in weird areas, the wind would be so strong that sand would fly everywhere. Some beaches might stay flooded, whereas some might just be sand. Coastal houses would also have a server impact. Without sand dunes or cliffs, houses would be flooded.

If everybody ate 1 fish for just one night, that would cost the marine life 8 billion fishes. This many not impact the coastlines as much yet it impacts the ocean a lot.

Once upon a time, if someone needed something from a different country, it would take months to get to them. Nowadays, it can take 2 to 3 weeks if travelling by ship. Ships are used everywhere, this means that oil or gas leaks can be very common. This is very harmful for the ocean.

Most oil spills float on the ocean's water surface. It spreads out rapidly to create a thin oil slick. As the oil continues to spread, the slick becomes thinner and thinner, becoming a very thin sheen, often looking like a rainbow.

Depending on the situation like where it is, oil spills can be very harmful to marine animals such as sea turtles, whales, sharks, marine birds, and many more.

As many people would say, "This only affects them, We don't care". Well, you could be eating oil. If marine animals are effected by oil and someone eats one of those marine animals, they could potienally die.

Everybody has heard of Water sports and participated in them before. It could be something very basic, such as floating with floaties around the water, or something very extreme, for example parasailing.

In extreme water sports, usually they would require a boat with a motor, like a Jet ski. Motors require some sort engine, which would need gas, or oil. Some would say "ThIs Is HaRmFuL tO ThE eNvIrOnMeNt" However, research shows that a up-to date modern jet ski is the most environmentally friendly mode of motorised transport on the water.

Even though jet skis are the most environmentally friendly mode of motorised transport on the water, the pick-up of other water sport equipment needs to be addressed. For example, Parasailing requires a parachute. After the use of the parachute, some don't dispose of it properly. These type of equipment may trap marine animals, causing them to die.
