I am a junior at SVHS. I do FFA livestock judging and do a lot of things in 4h. I show alapacas in 4h and also do forestry. I also help manage the girls soccer team at my school. 

I decided to take this vocational class because I really enjoy anything in agriculture. I also wanted to join this class because i wanted to make new friends and learn new things. For example, South America grows a lot of different crops than the US. Then US might grow different crops than South America.

GMO crops may be less healthy. But they are cheaper. Organic crops have better quality than GMO crops. It is more common for people to use gmo products than organic products.

There are a lot of GMO crops. The most popular GMO crop is corn. Corn is very common in a lot of areas. The other really popular crop is soybeans, also very common. The other popular one is canola. I learned about this debate is we may not agree on the topic.

What I mean by that is to make sure you are giving it all the nutrients it needs and to make sure it is healthy. You have to space the crops a certain way so they don’t grow in a weird position. And growth stages are a main part in growing crops.


Late planting impacts crops by delaying plant growth. Which is not good for farmers because then they are far behind from harvest.
