They couldn't own any land, make wages, and had few political rights. So, when Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton attended the World Antislavery Convention in London in 1840, they were not allowed to speak about slavery simply because they were women. After this those two women and a few more who were against women's suffrage got together to make a organized women's rights movement which was called Seneca Falls.
