This evidence shows my skills in peer editing. I am specific with my suggestions without completely changing the original text. This also helped me improve my peer editing skills. I used to give the person the answer, rather than suggesting what could be changed. I believe I am a very good peer editor and I'm close to mastering this skill.

I think this segment of my personal essay is very written and shows that writing is one of my best skills. The imagery I used and how I'm letting the reader feel what I felt instead of just telling them proves my skill in writing. It's full of suspense and gives the reader a very good description of the setting. The language I used shows my understanding of writing. If I write in the future, I will try to apply this skill to give my text more meaning.

These notes are taken from reading the information on 4 books to decide which one I wanted to read. Doing this previewing helped me learn a new skill. I will use these previewing strategies in the future when choosing a book. This is also a learning experience for me as I was pretty disappointed in the book I chose. I learned that the first few pages of a book isn’t a good tell of what the rest of the book is going to be like.

My Seven Fallen Feathers presentation was generally well done. This performance helped me improve my presentation skills which I can apply in the real world. It showed me what I do well and what I need to work on. Before the presentation I prepared to have questions asked and made sure I did enough research. My actual performance was coherent, well projected, and clear. I went off script a lot but still spoke with clarity. I could work on talking slower when presenting.

Here is evidence of some notes I took while listening to the Indian Act podcast. Going over this showed me a way to improve. I realize I should not only take notes that answer the assignment questions, but also take notes of important things that happen in the podcast. I will apply this strategy next time I watch/listen to something in class. This also improved my listening skills as I need to listen for the details in the podcast and write down what is important.

This film reflection show I’m capable of analyzing media coherently, while also showing me what I need to improve on. Next time I analyze a film I know to take more notes with more detail. If I were to re-do this reflection I would go into further detail and give specific examples for me to go back on. A strategy I could use next time would be organizing my notes. I could add headers, use colours, and make them more clear.

Here is evidence of what I wrote in our group jamboard for The Marrow Thieves. I now know I have a skill at analyzing books, and generating responses to questions related to them. This also helped me develop my ability to work in a group setting. I improved my oral communication while working in this group because I had to share my ideas in a way everyone can understand, as well as listening to everyone else's ideas.

This evidence shows that I am able to make connections to media. I can make connections to text, myself, and the world. I will say there is definintley room for development. I should further explain the connection and go into more detail.
