Shabbat- It is from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday. It represents the day G-d rested when he built the world. People have to rest throughout this period and not work.

Purim: The most joyous holiday on the jewish calendar

Hanukkah: Hanukkah is
the festival of lights. There are 9 candles on the menorah. A long time ago you needed oil to light the menorah. But, one day the Jews ran out of oil so someone had to go out and get oil. The miracle is that the oil was only supposed to last 1 day but it lasted 8 days. That is the miracle we celebrate when we celebrate Hanukkah.

Yom Kippur: It is the most important holiday. The holiest day of the year. It's also the day where G-d forgives you of all your sins.

Rosh Hashanah: It's the birthday of the universe and the start of a New Year. People celebrate by having a meal, lighting the candles, saying prayers, and blowing the shofar.

Pesach: also known as Passover is a holiday that commemorates the Israelites that escaped slavery from the Egyptians. During the eight days, Jews are not allowed to eat a any wheat, barley, rye, oats, spelt, and anything leavening.

The Jews are slaves in Egypt. Moses is exiled to Midian. Then G-d turns into a burning bush telling Moses to go back to Egypt so, he can help lead the Jews out of Egypt. When Moses goes to Egypt G-d tells him to go to Pharaoh telling him to free the Jews and if he doesn't there will be plagues. So plague after plague Pharaoh keeps saying no. But finally when it comes to the death of the first born Pharaoh finally gives in. So the Jews grab all there belongings and get out of Egypt as soon as possible. After the Jews left, Pharaoh changes his mind. When the Jews get to the Red Sea they have no where to go. There trapped. So G-d commands Moses to lift his staft. When he does the sea splits. When the Jews crossed the Red Sea. The sea collapsed behind them killing all the Egyptians. When the Jews reach Mt.Sinai they are given the 613 commandments
