The students strictly adhered to the writing process and always wrote their first draft on double spaced paper. They clearly marked the top of the paper with "draft". They even kept this paper to show parents with their final publication so they could explain the whole process and show how far they had come.

Last year my youngest daughter was in second grade and I attended several "publishing parties" for her class. Each time the class finished a unit, they used various methods to present their publications to families. They used an author's chair to read first. Next they created published books from construction paper and invited families to walk around and see the published works. Next they used technology to present themselves reading their finished works with SeeSaw recording.
