Story Writing: Gothic Story

It was late night, the air still crisp only to be disturbed by the odd pigeon flying on the inside of the station roof. Suddenly, a voice boomed over the system disturbing the quiet.

“Ladies and gentlemen, your attention please. The 11.41pm train for Ras Al Khaimah is delayed by 33 minutes.”

I sighed thinking what I should do but after a lot of thinking I decided to wait longer as I knew that after the long wait it would be worth. It was almost 12:57 AM and soon the same voice boomed over the system “Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like your attention please. The 11:41 train for Ras Al Khaimah is arriving within 2 minutes”.

2 minutes went by so fast that before I could process the information in my brain, the train arrived. As soon as the train arrived I started walking towards it and got on it, once I got on I started glancing at the almost empty train trying to search for the tour guide and soon I spotted him and some other tourist along.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like your attention please. The train will soon stop at Ras Al Khaimah Palace Station” and within seconds the train came to a stop and soon my tour guide screamed through the microphone “Ladies and Gentlemen, We have arrived at Ras Al Khaimah palace” I looked at him as if I saw a ghost because I didn’t expect the tour guide to use the microphone. Once we got off the train and left the station we waited outside with the tour guide and some tourists for the bus to arrive. A couple of minutes passed by and soon a sketchy bus arrives and the tour guide again screams through the microphone “Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like your attention please. This is the bus we are taking to visit the Ras Al Khaimah palace” many of the tourist including me glanced at each other hesitating about getting on the bus but after a couple minutes we decided to get on the bus

“Ladies and Gentlemen, if you feel tired from the long trip, please know that you are more than welcome to sleep” the tour guide said and as soon as the tour guide said that I soon fell in a deep slumber. I woke up to the feeling of the bus coming to a stop and saw through the window a creepy deserted palace.

Tourist including me started to slowly get off the bus and stared at the dusty deserted palace in the middle of nowhere. Out of nowhere, the wind began to become more aggressive and more harsh and the bright flashes of lightning lit up the dark sky, immediately followed by harsh roar of thunder and tourist were scared of what was happening some of them rushed into the bus soon the bus started its engine and drove away from me as I was the only one left behind so I rushed inside the building and out of nowhere the door suddenly closed. I panicked and tried opening the door and realized that I was stuck inside the palace and that there was no one who could help me. I heard strange noises and saw a figure of a ghost. After a couple of days waiting for someone to help me I soon heard a voice of a man saying “I will help you to get out of the haunted palace” by hearing the voice I was creeped out for a couple of minutes but soon replied with hope “Thank you so much!” soon out of nowhere the doors of the palace opened and soon I rushed out without looking back.

Out of the ordinary, I time traveled back to the past (2021) and I started researching on the haunted palace only to realize that the ghost had a similar story to mine and wanted to help me because It didn’t want me to end up like him.

The gentle dragon.

Dino, the little dragon, lived with his family in a cave on a mountain. All his cousins had learnt to fly, but he was still learning . He found it very difficult and very frightening. He couldnt even blow flames! Everyone teased him. every morning all the dragons would set off to work. In the evening, they would all share their adventures. They would kill beasts, save maidens in distress, fight soldiers and wicked dragons too. Dino would listen to all this, fascinated. At night, he dreamt of performing great deeds himself, but they remained dreams. In the morning, dino would watch the others leave and he would sit in the cave, feeling miserable. One day, he decided that he must make some effort to learn to fly. After the others had left, he walked up the mountain to the nest of the eagle who lived there. The eagle listened to dinos problem. He agreed to teach him how to fly and took him along to a flat place. It was grassy, so even if dino fell down in the beginning, he would not get hurt. He was a good teacher and taught dino how to use his wings. He told dino about winds, currents and clouds. Dino began to test his wings and flapped them. He tried to take off with the currents of wind. One day, he lifted off the ground and found himself flying. Thereafter, there was no stopping him. Dino flew everywhere much to the delight of his cousins. He still had problems about blowing flames, but that didnt worry him so much. One day, dino saw a little boy crying in a street. He came down and asked the boy why he was weeping. The baker caught me stealing a bun and beat me, said the boy, he will give me to the kings soldiers and I will be put in prison. Dino went to the baker and spoke to him about the little boy. The baker was very touched. If you, who are a dragon, can be so kind, he said, I think I too should be kind. The baker spoke to all his neighbours about dino and soon the fame of dino, the kind dragon, reached the king. The king called him to the palace and found him a very wise and gentle creature. Dino became a special friend of the king! Whenever the king needed advice on any matter, he asked dinos opinion. The dragons became proud of dino.

Book Review Writing 1

Attack On Titan
Hajime Isayama
September 9, 2009

Genre: Action, Dark Fantasy, and Fiction

Attack On Titan is about Humanity battling Titans. Titans are gigantic creatures who eat on humans. Humans cannot wander around the world as there are Titans around. They grow up inside a 50 meter wall and another 2 inner walls.

I really love Attack On Titan because it teaches you to never give up and that there is hope. I rate this comic book 5 out of 5.
I would recommend this comic book to my good friend, Marwa, since she loves Action Books

Formal Letter

Dear Mr Isayama,

I would like to complain to you about the comic book I have recently ordered in your shop.

I have purchased your comic book, Attack On Titan. However, it is not what I was expecting. The book was very dirty and it did not seem brand new. The volume that has been said on the book was "Volume 56", but I have received Volume 30.

I am very disappointed. I would request a refund or replace the book with the actual Volume 56. If you do not reply within 2 weeks, I don't have any choice but to report this to your boss.

Regards,

Marie Rodrigues
