Teachers who asked questions made me feel involved in the class.

b) I distinctly remember a high school home economics teacher who I did not feel supported by, largely because she did not know my name after a year of teaching me. Showing interest in students is important for their engagement.

teachers provided adequate support and explanation.
b) Some teachers misunderstand self-regulated learning and they told students to do research by themselves. When I was told that, I did not feel fully scaffolded. There is no point having the teachers there if no direction is not provided. When I thought my spoken English was poor, she often encouraged me and asked me to practice with her between classes and gave me lots of interesting tips. Subsequently, my speaking skills gradually improved and I fell in love with learning English. Therefore, encouraging and giving help is necessary when teaching.
