He swam ashore and joined his brother Bartolomeo, who was working in lisbon as a Cartographer. Christopher Columbus sailed to icland in 1477 and by 1478 was a merchant for the Genoese firm Centurioni. in 1479 Christopher Columbus spent the years between 1482 and 1485 trading along the West African Coast. In 1479 Christopher Columbus spent the years between 1482 and 1485 trading along the West African Coast. In 1484 he made an unsuccessful attempt to gain royal patronage, from King John II of Portugal, for his plan to find a quicker trade route to the Indies by crossing the Atlantic.

Congratulations Saskia! I very much enjoyed your timeline about Columbus. You have used your class time productively and made good use of the resources provided. You also successfully included the checklist items. Your drawings and picture selection were terrific. The chatterpix was very creative as well. You also added a few extra elements to your timeline, like the 'Fun Facts' section. Just some feedback to double check your spelling and punctuation before publishing. I hope you enjoyed this topic of Explorers this term and especially learning about Christopher Columbus as well as navigating the Padlet App. Well done 🤩
