We went up against one of the schools that was closer to our level of playing. They ended up taking the first set and we were loosing the second set in the moment. I was so nervous and thought that I was going to mess up since I had just gotten back from an injury. Our team called a time out and we all talked to each other. We cheered one another up and got back into the game. We started getting closer to them and then we were soon ahead. This related to the theme because even though we were losing, we didn't give up. Even though we were all frustrated, we helped one another and cheered each other on. On every quiz, I would pass, but only by a few points. Lots of kids are happy with a 70, but just having one 70 in my grades throws me off. Eventually, I started listening more and actually payed full attention. I realized how interesting our state history is. This relates to the theme because even though I had a rough start, I picked up and didn't give up. It was annoying seeing everyone else better than me at it. Even thought after sometime I got better, all I really wanted to be able to do was be a spiker. They were so cool and since I had the height, all the coaches would think I was a great hitter. I started getting more into it and realizing how fun volleyball actually is. Since I wasn't paying attention to what I was bad at and just kept practicing, I was able to get better! This relates to my theme because even though I felt like i couldn't do it, I didn't give up.
