In this role, Curt Friehs draws on his extensive experience in library management to oversee all aspects of library operation, including book acquisitions, financial tasks, and library staff management. Furthermore, he wrote successful grants for the renovation and upkeep of the historic library building.

Mr. Friehs has been working as a librarian since 2005, when he started his career at Wichita State University and later Kansas City, Kansas Public Library. He then moved to New York, where he served initially as a librarian and later as library director. Among his most noteworthy roles, from 2019 to 2021, he was the director of library services at Vaughn College in East Elmhurst, Queens where he oversaw all library operations.

From 2021 to 2023, he was the library director at Evans City Public Library in Pennsylvania. Aside from managing and supervising library staff, he oversaw website design and created original programming for adults and youth. Mr. Friehs used his expertise in library services to write book chapters and conduct keynote presentations at conferences such as the America Library Association Annual Conference, Charleston Conference, Nassau County Library Association, New England Library Association, among others.

Curt Friehs has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Business Administration and a Master of Library and Information Sciences from the School of Information Sciences, both at the University of Pittsburgh. Furthermore, he has a Master’s in Human Resource Management from Stony Brook University.
