Federico II Gonzaga, che fece costruire questo Palazzo tanto tempo fa da Giulio Romano, voleva che questi racconti incantassero e stupissero tutti coloro che visitavano il suo Palazzo.

Questi racconti hanno meravigliato anche noi!

e a Federico sta sempre accanto.
Nel suo palazzo ho strani amici:
vieni a conoscerli. Cosa ne dici?
bianco è il cavallo che sa volare,
uomini-pesce sanno nuotare.
Sono lattanti capretti-bambini,
tirano carri i cavalli marini.
Guarda le Arpie, le donne-uccello,
han forti artigli e il viso bello.
Ma più tremendo è Cerbero il cane,
le sue tre teste esprimono fame.
Occhi di fuoco ha il verde dragone,
nessuno certo gli va sul groppone.
Sui muri e i soffitti li puoi guardare,
han molte storie da raccontare.
Storie davvero meravigliose,
non sempre allegre, sempre curiose
ma divertenti, mai paurose:
perché son favole, è poesia,
non fa paura la fantasia.
