The Chellis Ellis Scholarship will be dispensed at the rate of $500 per semester.  It is intended only for students who have been accepted for an Associate Degree of Nursing or BSN Program at a college or university in the State of South Carolina.

to honor his vibrant competitive swimming career in the Pee Dee and in the state of South Carolina. The

scholarship will keep Jason’s swimming goals and dreams alive while helping students pursue their own

college swimming and academic goals.

Jason began swimming at the age of five. At age twelve, he started to coach at the Florence YMCA. In

2004, he helped establish the Florence SD1 High School Swim Programs. Jason also swam for South

Florence High School and earned state championships in the butterfly and backstroke. Jason continued

his swimming career at Clemson, graduating with a degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. He served

as the swim team athletic representative on Clemson’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Purpose: To provide a $1,000 scholarship to a student swimmer to continue their swimming

career in college.
