I visited Munich for a week and during that time, I practised simple German sentences and phrases. I ordered food in restaurants in German. During my time there I visited many Christmas markets and I managed to buy things using German. At first I was nervous about saying the wrong this and my pronunciation but the more I spoke, the more confident I became.

I have a British friend who spent a year in Germany. I have had coffee with them on more than one occasion and he helped me to remember certain words and to help me pronounce words. It is difficult for me to pronounce words especially with the rolling 'r' sound as my native language does not contain this sound. He especially helped me to learn how to pronounce this sound. I am also currently teaching my boyfriend things we learned in German. This has also helped me learn and memorise words and pronunciations.
