They are there to help provide parents with any resources that can help support their child at home. One example I read is that a school had many parents concerned with their children's difficulty surrounding sleeping, so the school brought in a child sleep expert to talk with the parents and help them learn. This is incredible to me because it shows how important all aspects of a child's life is to the school, not just what's going on during the day in the classroom environment.
