         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><ol><li>They are eukaryotic and multicellular organisms. </li><li>The plant cell contains a rigid cell wall made of cellulose. </li><li>Plants have chloroplast and chlorophyll pigment, which is required for photosynthesis. </li><li>They are non-motile.</li><li>They are called autotrophs (make their food). </li><li>Plants perform photosynthesis, the process by which plants capture the energy of sunlight and use carbon dioxide from the air to make their food.</li><li>Reproduction is both asexual and sexual. </li><li>They show alternation of generation. </li><li>The kingdom is divided into between vascular and non-vascular plants.</li><li>Vascular plants: are plants with specialized tissue. They possess specialized supporting and water-conducting tissue called xylem, and food-conducting tissue called phloem. They convert sunshine into food, they absorb nutrients through the soil , and the exploit the resources available for their survival.  </li><li>Non-vascular plants: are generally small plants limited by size they have poor methods to transport water, gases and other compounds. They reproduce via spores rather than seeds, and do not produce flowers, fruit or wood.</li></ol>]]></description>

         <title>USES:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Plants can be used in several different ways:<br><strong>-they provide food: </strong>plants make and store starches and sugars for themselves, but they also provide these nutrients that humans and animals need to survive. There is an immense amount of foods that are plant-based like wheat, oats, rice, barley, peas, dry beans, soybeans, peanuts, seasonings, spices, coffee, tea, etc.<br><strong>-clothing:</strong> most clothes are made of or have some type of material that comes from plants like cotton, linen, and rayon, which is artificially made from cellulose (found in cell walls of plants).<br><strong>-fuel:</strong> many fuels that are used today for heating or cooking derive from plants. For example, Peat (formed partially from decayed plants), wood, and charcoal.<br><strong>-shelter and products</strong>: In many places in the world, materials that derive from plants are used to make items that are present in human shelters like houses, chairs, and basic furniture from wood. Wallpaper, paint, natural fibers, leather, glass, rubber, jewels, stone, and metal all have some form of plant parts. Plants are also the shelter of many animals and insects. Many times, they provide them a safe environment and receive nutrients and protection.<br><strong>-oxygen:</strong> Plants are our best friends because humans and animals could not live without them. We need oxygen in order to survive and plants help us with that through photosynthesis.<br><strong>-paper:</strong> such an important aspect of our everyday lives also derives from plants. Paper was first made from fibrous stems of a plant called "papyrus". Plant fibers are placed in water and reduced to a pulp. The water is sieved off, and the pulp is pressed and dried to make a thin sheet of paper. <br><strong>-medicine: </strong>there are many medicinal plants that have been studied and used to relieve aches and pains, as well as just help with the well-being of someone. There several examples like, salicylic acid, vincristine, leaves of willows, leaves of foxglove, the cinchona tree, and many many more. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>BIOLOGICAL/ECOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Plants supply food to nearly all terrestrial organisms. </div><div>-Plants maintain the atmosphere. They produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis. Oxygen is essential for cellular respiration for all aerobic organisms, and the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere reduces the greenhouse effect and global warming. </div><div>-Plants recycle matter in biogeochemical cycles. For example: through transpiration, plants move enormous amounts of water from the soil to the atmosphere. </div><div>-Plants are important for maintaining good soil conditions. Their roots and the microorganisms that live around their roots hold the soil together, reducing soil erosion. </div><div>-When leaves fall from the trees and when plants die, they decompose, fertilizing the soil.</div><div>-Green plants provide natural cooling because their leaves block the heating effect of the sun, and also provide cover and shelter for many animals and plants.</div><div>-Green plants provide natural cooling because leaves block the heating effect of the sun. </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>                                       They are divided in: <br><strong>Plants with seeds:</strong> or spermatophytes are plants that produce seed, and use them to reproduce.<br><strong>Plants with no seeds: </strong>They do not require seeds to reproduce and grow into new plants. Instead of using seeds, they use spores to create new versions of themselves.<br><strong>Plants with seeds are divided in:</strong><br><strong>Gymnosperm</strong> have no flowers or fruit, and 8 seeds that are not protected by a fruit) have unenclosed or nakes seeds on the surface of cales of leaves.<br><strong>Angiosperms</strong> also called flowering plants, have seeds that are enclosed an ovary. The seeds of angiosperms develop in the ovaries of flowers and are surrounded by a protective fruit.<br><strong>Angiosperms are divided between monocots and dicots:<br>Monocots: </strong>Embryo with single cotyledon, pollen with single furrow or pore  and flower parts in multiples of three.<br><strong>Dicots</strong>: Embryo with two cotyledons, pollen with three furrows or pores and flower parts in multiples of four or five</div>]]></description>
