How do they get money to pay for the services they provide?

The Charities host fundraising events like "Guts and Glory" and "Sleepout" to raise money for support. Guts and Glory is a fundraising event that involves team going through an obstacle course. Mainly companies and workplace people or adults, in general, participate in this event. A sleepout is an event that people enjoy. They get to converse with the youths in the house, explore what causes homelessness and trafficking also spread awareness, learn how donations and sleeping out in the streets for night help the youths. (90% of fundraising goes straight to the youths being served. Another and obvious way they get money is from donations and from schools, workplaces and community fundraisers. All these are ways they get money to pay for the services they provide.

In google reviews I read many positive comments and comments on what they can improve on. Someone had said "The Covenant House is good when it comes to space, donations and resources" but then said "They lack on helping and focusing on mental health problems. Then I read more comments saying "The staffs are very kinds and the shelter is clean", "Experienced staff', "They could take down some rules for a little bit more freedom" and "Great place ot donate too". In conclusion this tells me that the shelter alone is clean spacious but the staffs could work on themselves and a little bit more freedom for the youths.

How efficiently do they use the money they make?

The Covenant House spends their money efficiently based on how they spend the money they get from fundraisings. As shown from resources, in 2018 they got a total of about $29 million. Out of that $29 million 77% of the total revenue came from receipted donations and their total expenditure was about $27 million. They used it wisely since they spent less then what they got programs and such while saving $2 million.
