I think that the wolf populations should be considered a huge problem, and that it will change the whole ecosystem.
The main are where this is happening is the Yellowstone National Park but it's not only in this area.
1) My first reason why we need to control the population is because they are on top of the whole food chain and if they are not there to eat the other animals then the other animals will overpopulate.
2) My second reason is because if we are killing the wolves if they are outside of the park then they will at some point go extinct.
3) My third and final reason is because I think that a wolf is an awesome creature and it is my favorite animal and if they all died that would be very sad.

Whenever there is competition for food or mate, then things can get a little confusing. fellow animals will attack at all cost to protect there food, cubs, or there mates. Wolves are a predator in there ecosystem for the most part, but they will have to battle things like other wolf packs, eagles, etc. to get what they need to survive. in order for the ecosystem to work properly everybody needs to be balanced out. here is a situation... if all of the wolves die then the carrying capacity will rise constantly because there will be not wolves to eat them, and the same way around if all of the deer die then there will be an overpopulation of wolves, and it will throw the ecosystem off. like what happened in the bear necessities, most people didn't have enough water because there is not enough for everyone, like my group in the first round we had one over what we needed (4)(we had 5) but in the second round we were under the least you can get by (2)(we had 4 but needed 6) so because of the competition you are forced to fight for it.

Population control is very hard to control in Yellowstone. reasons being that this will cost money, on things like fencing to separate the wolves, and other things. the population will change in any move like if all of the elk die than the wolves will die because there will be no more food for them to eat. its a little different if you flip it and all of the wolves die then the elk will overpopulate because there will be no one there to eat them.
elk- whenever the elk are killed by wolves the population stays even and they don't overpopulate other animal species.
wolves- if all of the beavers, and elk had died than they would die because they wouldnt have anything there for them to eat.
beavers&willows- whenever all of the elk die the willows will over populate because there are not any elk there for them to eat, and they can also die form deforestation. beavers will overpopulate whenever all the wolves die because there will be no wolves there to eat them.

The ecosystems balance is huge and is a constant change for the enviorment. you can start off with the populations being no wolves and a bunch of elk being overpopulated, to fix this they released wolves into yellowstone and know all the sudden wolf population is going up and elk is going down but still balenced well. but then when the wolves start to overpopulate and then all of the elk will be gone because they ate them all so because of that there population will decrease because they have no food, and if there are no wolves to eat the elk then the elk are going to overpopulate again because there is nothing there to eat them and over and over again is the population going up and down at a constant rate.

The wolf population is basically the holder of the ecosystem in a way, and whenever something happens to the wolf population everything goes crazy. for one if the population of the wolves go up then the elk population will go down because there are to many wolves. and if there aren't any wolves to eat the elk then the elk are going to overpopulate and then the willows will decrease because there are to many elks that all are eating the willows. and when theres no willows then the beavers dont have any willows to make a home out of so they will die because they dont have any shelter
