In 1923 Hitler was leading the Nazis and he led them into a beer hall in Munich, where they opened fire on police. He then declared a national revolution. The beer hall putsch made Hitler a national figure. Hitler was then taken into police custody. Some transit camps include Drancy (in France), Mechelen (in Belgium), and Westerbork (in Netherlands). A concentration camp was a camp where Jews were kept as prisoners. They were kept in extremely harsh conditions. They had limited food and water and they were forced to do labor and they were subjected to brutal treatment commonly resulting in death.
