Enviro Green : 'We want Oil Exploitation Dead!'

In a brief conducted at Media Star headquarters, chief Representatives of EnvironGreen Mr.Emmanuel C. noted that the Environmentalist N.G.O. is not happy with the looming talks of explorations in Malinni's Block 9, and mentioned that they are totally against oil exploitation of any kind.

To the question to how fusible their vision to have an oil free exploited Zania,they said that not only do they want Zania free of oil exploration and "exploitation" but the entire world and added that they have strong backing that they would later elaborate about.

On the strategy they would use, Ms. Frank of Enviro Green pointed out Education and sensitization as key and pointed out the if people really knew about Coven oil oil spill in earlier years they would not be so ready to allow them in their country.

Mr. Emmanuel otherwise noted that the idea of ceasing the oil exploration is not in their hands and would be deemed unfair by the government and locals as the economic need for a country barely out of a civil war is all but necessary.

EnviroGreen promised to be behind the government no matter what avenue they take, still supporting the best interest of the environment and biodiverstiy in Malini and Zania as a whole. He added that they have many earthly safe economic growth ideas for the country of Zania such as agriculture which they hope to convience the Zania government about.

CovenOil Manager Miss Sue opened the press conference by noting their commitment to Block 9, she added that they as a company have revised their operations to ensure that the oil spill disaster of North Africa will not happen again and confirmed a generic plan developed , which will furthered upon securing of the contract. Mr. Adi, Operations Manager, covenOil added that the country can look forward to, transfer of technology Economic and infrastructural boost, they however noted their disappointment with the government since they are reluctant to meet and discuss the contract further, however they are positive they will win the contract.

In a meeting with Ms. Beata the representative of the PGRC regulators, CovenOil expressed their dissapointment with the government of Zania for not being good communicators and urgued that they have not been formally contacted or responded to in regards to the Block 9 contract bid, CovenOil Operation manger noted that there seems to be a worrying lack of transparency and hoped that a press confrence could sort out all the mistrust issues and assured the National Oil companies and Zania nation that they have nothing to hide and want a fair competition.

Sources from the sate house however say that CovenOil has been unreachable and has refused to meet the president in the last 6 months.

Coco Oil president, proffesor Divin, updated that Coco Oil has finalized contract meeting with the government and are confident to win the bid, Proffessor Divin also continued that they have 80% of the 25 million required to start the exploration. He said that they were in talks with a financial partner to finance them, Coco is also ready to meet the locals and see how to familiarise them with the oil exploits about to happen.

Discrepancy is growing among stakeholders as rumours fly that Coco Oil has won the bid for block nine and sources say that the president and Coco Oil president are are relatives and are thus trying to keep all the wealth in the family, However it is of concern that Coco oil is not financially ready to embark on the project since in an earlier meeting said they only has 80% of the required income. ZANTRAL CONSERVATION sources are ready to protest to this " under handed and selfish act"

This does not help the already tainted image of the Zanian government as a corrupt body, will CovenOil stand for this? as they have already expressed concern over miscommunication with the government before and what's the government true positon.

As of the last six months, enviro green is not resting it's environmental awareness campaign in the local communities, Miss Frank Yvonne, a representative of the organisation at a meeting with some of the locals noted that financial backing would be prepared for the locals to fund agricultural needs and they were prepared to work with local NGO ZANTRAL to provide social ammenities, train local labourers and resolve tribal conflicts

In a much heated debate, Media Today met with the locals of Malini and spoke with their chief , chief Yasha who assured Media Today that the oil drilling will be more helpful than harmful to his people of Malini and emphasised the development and infrastructure they have been waiting for will be provided as well jobs and education security, when asked his concern for the biodiversity and environment, chief Yasha said that they will always be a level of destruction but it will still be good for his people, he assured Media today that his people are well aware of the consequences of the drilling, although was reluctant to give any more details as to how he was so sure of the promises. He also mentioned that the drilling will be in the best interests of the government, which pauses a question as to why the Malini people were more concerned about the government's well-fair than their own.

Another surprising turn of event was when the The FRHB (FUNDS FOR THE RIGHTS OF HUMAN BEINGS) reported that the Malini people had rejected any support from them and saw it as unnecessary, this begs a question of how well the locals know their rights,in regards to the exploration of block nine, is it may be too presumptuous that the exploration will go off with out a hitch and the local people will have no complaints what soever?

A report of animal poaching has come to light, a local reached out to Media Today saying that the CovenOil survey team has killed a rhino for it's horn in one of Zania's game park and blood and the body of the rhino were found lying in the fields. Questions of credibility of this company are arising, how will their success in the bid be affected. And as a result Evergreen NGO concerned with sustainability of the environment wants to Sue CovenOil. Adding fuel to this fire.

Kritchnic Oil has defended themselves against the recent a ligations that they have offered the malini local community a contract giving them benefits and 5% from the oil exploration profits and says that it has not done such a thing and is to be appalled , the representative noted that in their 40 years of experience have never been accused of such a thing and says that the Malini governement has been duly meeting with them and they are confident of the government's transparency as well as their own.
