Type of model: Geocentric
Main claim: Explained retrograde motion with epicycles, which are the planet's own circular orbit around an imaginary point that revolves around a larger circular path around Earth.
Flaw: The epicycles were complicated to explain, and in order for it to work, complicated models with epicycles changing in speed were made. This was hard to keep track of, and it was only accepted because "that's just how it works."

Type: Geocentric with Epicycles
Claims: Suggested Earth was a sphere, and also claimed that the Moon's light was a reflection of light from the Sun. Also suggested that Earth spins around its own axis
Flaw: Still depended on epicycles to explain movements of other planetary systems, which was influenced by Ptolemy's model. It faced the sane complications as earlier models.

This made the math of predicting planetary movement easier.

Now that we have incredibly advanced technology, we have a completely new understanding of the solar system that some of the first philosophers like Aristotle. All planets revolve around the sun, it is simply false when people say that every planet revolves around the Earth. We are also now able to see stars beyond the Solar System thanks to the Hubble Telescope, which is incredibly powerful. It has also found many universes and different planets thousands of light years away. With all of this information, we have compiled it into what we know as the observable universe.
