I think Atticus' parenting style is very effective because he has clear morals but isn't strict about every aspect of his children's life. His open mindedness grants his children to learn lessons they need early on instead of way later in life. In today's world it is very hard to let your children have this much freedom due to the access of so many scary things. But parents could learn to be open minded like Atticus and let their children learn things on their own time.
