This course has helped me advance in my career as an educator and student. Before starting instruction in this course, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Based off the name of the course, New Tools for Creating Online Educational Materials I knew that this course would be highly technology integrated and that we would focus on creating instructional materials online. During this course we were able to spend each week focusing on a new online educational platform and task such as surveys, mind maps, infographics, and screencast. We were also given the opportunity to create a “regular” assignment or challenge ourselves with a “challenge” assignment. I feel that I gained a great deal of knowledge about instructional online materials in this short period. I loved that I was able to really focus on each platform for an entire week and was able to apply what I learned to real world exercises. I absolutely feel that I have a better understanding of online educational materials. Every single tool that I learned to use in this course, will be applied to my courses this upcoming school year.
