He saw women as minors and forced men into the military as well as over using the military to conquer all of Europe while letting thousands of people die. Yes, he brought education, equal taxes, and fired government officials, but instead of him going more in the direction of fixing or "perfecting" France, he focuses on expanding his rule and conquering other countries. The military takes over the government, and forced men into his army. It's great to have more land but maybe there were more important things that needed to be done before. Also, when Napoleon went to start a war on other countries it backfired in ways that hurt the people. First when when he tried the blockade trade going to Great Britain, it backfired an put a financial strain on France. The people who have to deal with this and were not happy. Lastly, when Napoleon invades Russia, Russia fights back and burns everything so France had nothing leaving French cold and hungry. In the end, Napoleon did nothing different for the people.
