This pen could help someone with dyslexia or a speech disorder. The tool can read aloud text. When you drag the pen along the paper it scans text to then do a number of things. It can define words and read them aloud so you know how they are said and what they mean. It supports the UDL point of representation by clarifying sounds and definition of words. It's engaging since the pen does not only define the word showing it in writing but also says it aloud for a more engaged response by hitting two senses instead of one.

High tech assistive technology for executive functioning and ADHD. The software uses engaging colors for each block off the original. It is a great way to hep organize thoughts before writing an essay and this particular software compared to the others I looked at is very easy to use and accessible. It helps with the UDL principle of representation and being able to represent the ideas of the teacher or student in a new way. The tool also helps with clarifying vocabulary and defining terms having nice sequential order of how things should flow from broad ideas to specific ones.

These headphones are not only good for a child with a disability like ADHD to block out distractions but other abled children can also use this technology. With a noisy classroom these are good for children to be able to focus on reading or for children who are sensitive to loud noises. If you have a center time with many different activities in the classroom a reading center will benefit from such a tool. It helps to facilitate personal coping skills and strategies to keep children engaged while reading or completing other tasks.

This desk allows the user to be on a number of levels while still having the comfortable support of a desk. Having one or two in a classroom may be useful to help children that need physical movement to be engaged. Sometimes a student may prefer to stand. This can also be helpful to a student with a physical disability that may be in a wheel chair to have the desk able to be adjusted to the specific height of their wheel chair. There are other models of such and adjustable desk that may be more suited for a wheel chair but this is just one example.

This pen is a great tool for note taking in class. Not only can it help those with a disability like ADHD and also those with physical disabilities. The pen can record audio to record lectures. It can also copy exactly what the user writes in the Livescribe notebook to a computer or laptop with the software. This is useful for copying notes for absent students or for students with disabilities that cannot write their worn notes. It is also good for those who need it in an audio format. It presents multiple means of representation, action and expression as well as engagement because the user can focus more on the class and less on writing notes or worrying about not having the information.

This tool can change any screen into a touch screen. It is engaging because children can use their hands to manipulate the screen instead of the keyboard and mouse. It can also be very useful to a child with a disability that doesn't have the motor control to use because instead of moving and clicking a mouse they can click right on the screen. Great for kids with ADHD as well to get the sensory feedback.

The tool helps to follow the words in a book and can read them aloud. There are multiple means of representation because there are many different books the children can choose from. They can have the engagement from their favorite characters like Elsa from Frozen while learning vocab and phonological awareness. There are also books to promote alphabet knowledge and how letters are formed.

This is a switch which can be hooked up to many different devices. It is useful for those who have difficulty applying pressure to buttons or do not have the fine motor skills required for small switches on toys or lights. They have a light pressure system which means even light touches are able to activate it. The buttons are smooth to touch and come in many different colors which contributes to the UDL principle of engagement and representation because if the child has a disability this tool would be an extension of them and they want the color to represent them. It also promotes action and expression.
