I've always enjoyed looking at this artwork even when I was a little kid. There is something about the night sky that has always grounded me whenever I've had a difficult day. I've always felt better after looking up at the night sky because it makes me realize that the world around us has so much beauty and makes large problems seem small. It gives me comfort in the fact that time moves forward and everything will be just fine.

I only know about this painting from this course. However, it caught my attention because it shows Jesus being baptized. I grew up Christian and have always prayed whenever I felt like I needed a sense of comfort from God. I was baptized when I was 10 and just remember feeling very proud of myself.

This artwork means a lot to me, along with the other Virgin and Child artworks. The bond between a child and their mother is special and one of the most important things a woman can do in their life. I'm a father of three children and raising them everyday with my wife gives me fulfillment in ways I can't describe. Watching my wife go from just being my wife to the transformation of being a mother has made me a proud husband and comfort in knowing I chose the right person to raise children with.

I chose this painting because Claude Monet is one of my favorite artists. There is something peaceful about this painting. It almost seems simple and thrown together, and still turns out beautiful. This relates to my life because I think everyone longs for peace and a simple life. And most of the time it's simple to find peace and comfort in nature itself, even if it's just the view of a sunrise or sunset.
