I created a ceramic piece showing what coral reefs look like on one side and dead coral reef on the other. The main challenge I faced was time. This project would probably take about one month and a half to make, but I was really determined to finish it in less than a month. The process of building the clay was not difficult, it was the glazing. I wanted vibrant and bright pops of color one side and dead blanch, colors on the other. It was hard to achieve because there is so many components on how to glaze and what glaze to use. The difference between an oxide wash and a glaze is that the oxide STAINS the project.
