         <description><![CDATA[<div>So much attention has been placed on changing the teacher and student relationship in terms of having the students engaged and the teacher as a guide but I don't believe this mentality as changed public opinion about teachers and our role, we are not always viewed as people who are willing to listen and not judge and believe that parents play a very important role in education and need to be heard<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I completely agree with Luis Molls about visiting in the home with the students and parents.  I have learned so much from my students and their families.  We are an all ELL campus with 23 countries represented.  One of the first journals they write is to explain what about their culture they will always pass down to the their children.  Most have one or more traditions which they want for their children to always celebrate.  Especially their language.  They want their children to speak English but also their Mother tongue. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>
