As we all know, this challenging academic term begins. Students are still coping up in the new normal situation, as well as the teachers. While all people eagerly await the moment for the schools to safely resume in person. Since the start of the new normal semester is the year 2020, a lot of students have experienced a hard time studying in their own home for different reasons such as slow internet connection, lack of gadgets to use, and lots of activities to answer. But it's not just students experiencing hardships, teachers and also parents are also having a hard time because of this. Even with all these hardships, we still manage the new normal situation and still cope with it. This pandemic made me realize to believe in ourselves that we can get through these, and also be safe and appreciate all the people who help us in our difficult situation because they are doing all their best they can do to surpass this. In addition, we have to trust God in the darkest time we might experience because I believed He will lead us away.

Online learning can be exhausting — endless deadlines, unstable internet connection, lots of distractions. But hey, it’s good to know that we’re still on track — waking up everyday to learn new things, as we build our future ❤️

Aside from learning how to make banana bread, cookies, and brownies this pandemic, there’s this one lesson that I’ll cherish for life— being resilient. Back then, I used to complain a lot (even in the most minor inconvenience possible) I was so naive, quote-and-quote “enjoying” my life. I felt like everything suddenly stopped because of the Pandemic, my long planned debut got cancelled, the concerts I was supposed to attend to, the parties, everything. I was so bummed as if I didn’t cared about anything aside from those. It all started when a life changing event happened to my family (that we got through). I had to wake up from being so naive, I had to make important decisions, I became more matured because I chose to be resilient — and it is indeed one of the best things I have done in my life. :)

My heart became stronger, and grateful — I believe that this (one of many) trial brought me here — who and what I am right now, and I am truly grateful for my character development (HAHSHAHA) It was a solid lesson after all. ❤️

This quarantine I get to have a chance to do what I want which is to relax and take care of my mental health. Because of quarantine my mother finally allowed us to have a Netflix account which entertained me throughout this pandemic and at the same time I didn't get enough sleep because I tend to stay up all night to finish a movie or series. I also had the chance to change my lifestyle and work on my fitness due to the reason that we avoid eating at restaurants. And lastly I get the chance to do my hobbies such as cooking and helping in baking pastries with my mother, reading a lot of books (fiction), practicing playing musical instruments, and lastly help my mother in her business.

What I learned in this quarantine is the importance of taking care of my mental health especially in this time of pandemic. I also learned to bake because before quarantine I actually tried to do it however I eventually stopped but because of quarantine I had the chance to do it again with the help of my mother. I also learned the importance of being practical in life because of this pandemic many businesses have suffered and people have lost their jobs. With that being said I realized that I have to be practical in my choices especially in where I should utilize my money.

Online learning for me is a struggle and up until now I'm still trying to keep up, nonetheless it helped me to be more responsible and diligent due to the reason that I am on my own and I am new to online learning and so I have to adjust in order for me to keep up to the class. It also helped me in developing my time management skills because I need to organize my time in doing my school requirements and at the same time help in the house and have extra time for myself to relax.

During this quarantine I learned how to play the ukelele, which I bought a few days prior the start of the lockdown. I would like to think that I also learned to interact with people effectively online, since we haven't met each other personally during this time. Another thing that I have done during this time was go back into my hobby of collecting various kpop merchandise, action figures and such which I was not able to do, due to the amount of work for school, during the time of face-to-face classes.

My insights about online learning is that, as much as it is convenient since things are accessible and can be done at our own time, I still prefer being able to collaborate with my peers personally since we'll be able to understand each other better and give equal inputs without the need to follow-up with those not able to attend a set meeting time.
