The summer holidays were slowly slipping away from our hands like minuscule grains of sand. We were at the end of our vacation and were in Dehradhun at a relatives house... We decided to not waste our time and then it was that the idea of building a Burma bridge popped into our heads like tiger out of the bushes. We went collecting scrap from around the area and ended up with a couple rough planks of tough ply. It was a two hour job me, a couple friends and my dad ,who was the supposed head of the project as none of us were above a suitable age, it was finally done. The thick as blubber rope held it all together, the ply glistened in the soft summer sun. But alas it did not live that long...

My heart was pounding, but at the same time i was loaded with excitement. I went up the stairs which led to the slide. I saw some people coming down. This cheered me up as i thought that they had completed the slide. But what i did not know was that those people were coming back looking at the enormous slide...

The sun was some what peculiar that day. Staring done at all the innocent children. The children, vibrant, matching the radiant sphere levitating in the sky. There were innumerable children unlike the unaccompanied sun. The children lost in their own world, some were getting their nails dirty in the sandbox, some were clumsily swinging. Time was passing by, the sun was gloomily setting, but the children were still filled with energy, so active that it was causing suspicion. The clouds growing thicker and thicker, rumbling, almost sounding as if the clouds were angry, but the children couldn't care less. Lightning, causing the sky to flash . This frightened the unmanageable children who started running in circles, thinking the storm will become less scary. What a funny sight, I think our unity scared away the lonely lightning bolt. BOOM! The lightning arose from its solitude, all the troubled children ran off to their home. But I, quite strangely stood, stood there unaccompanied, except for the clouds and lightning. I found the vicious storm to be interesting, thinking how much there is left to explore. Just then my mom waked me up," You're going to be late for school!" And I could feel the comfort of my bed.

I remember going down to play with my friends. We thought it will be a normal day where we all play cricket, but no. The opponents only needed 6 runs to win in one ball. Their team had the best batsmen. I knew the moment the ball made contact with his bat that we lost; but what I did not expect was to hear a 'CRACK'. I looked where the ball had traveled and saw that he had broken someones window! It seemed that the ball made contact on the middle of the bat that caused that much strength, height and velocity to the ball. That guy who had his window broken poked his head out to see who did it. Then what was left to do? Some players ran but I stood y ground and had asked my friend whether he had seen yesterdays reality TV show. Before that guy scolded us we started to walk away looking innocent.

The sun climbed higher and higher, leaving hideous traces of light anywhere and everywhere. The sand, the most gentle pack of cushions, outdid its faithful sublimity. The wind, swift and strong, intermediately prowling at all ends. The trees, singing and dancing along the soft and melodic tones of the sea, in the absolute perfect sync. And at last, we got to experience the truest colours of our very own mother nature.

I was at the door, I shoved it open, and rushed outside. I was greeted by a heavy gust of wind, which is ideal, when you are on the terrace on the 14th floor. I looked at the pool, it was dirty, and filled with ugly looking rainwater, but I was at peace, knowing that it would soon be filled, and I would soon be swimming in it. There was still some light left in the day, I ran around the terrace, much like a crazed deer, who had nowhere to go hide as a tiger chased it. Except, the only thing chasing me was excitement. It was almost sunset; the best part of the day. I went towards the edge, leaned forward on the building structure and looked up. The clouds were tinted with an orange hue, and the sky was a light, bright pink. All the birds quickly flew homewards as the sun set in the distance. The sun, in a desperate attempt to give light to this lost and confused world, perished and went down in the sky.

In my perspective, when one has good childhood memories, they grow up to be happy! I remember this incidence very clearly, when I went to the zoo for the first time! It was a bright, sunny day, my family and I were head over heels just thinking about the adventures coming ahead. The best part, my mother had packed delectable snacks which we were going to feast on. First, we went on a safari and saw deers, giraffes and rhinos. We gave them leaves and other green veggies when the safari head told us that whenever the animals like someone who comes and visits them, they make a soft squealing sound. So after we fed them, we knew that they devoured it! I remember my fear to go and pet rabbits, later, I found them so cute and irresistible, that I ended up adopting one! My father clicked a ton of pictures. All in all, my first zoo visit is a childhood memory I will cherish forever!
