Rosalind Franklin went to King's College in the nineteen fifties. While there she made her biggest discovery. In Nineteen fifty-one she looked at some wet tiny crystals of DNA with high energy x-rays. While looking she discovered the structure of DNA. So, she wrote a manuscript about her newfound discovery. On March 7, 1953, it was released with James Watson and Francis Crick's manuscript. She also discovered the density of DNA and established it was in a helical front. Her work made x-ray patterns of DNA clearer and SHAPED the world of DNA.

Oswald Avery made a huge discovery that shaped DNA as we know it. He found out that the chromosomes and genes in our body are made of DNA. Before him it was believed that DNA was made of proteins and that's what made hereditary traits. Scientists were skeptical of his claims but in 1944 it changed. Avery and his colleagues, Colin MacLeod and Maelyn McCarty isolated a strand of bacteria, and it eventually transformed into another strand. When they compared the two, they realized that the first conferred characteristics onto the second strand. This completely changed the view of DNA for everyone.

These two started their experiments in 1952 to prove that DNA makes Genetic material instead of proteins. Their experiments used a technique called radioactive isotope labeling. They used this to study bacteria. Through the use of experiments on bacteriophage, their discovery was made. They found out that only the DNA of a virus needs to enter the bacterium to infect it. They also learned that supported genes are made of DNA. Overall, they're experiments led to the greater benefit of DNA study in the future.

James Watson and Francis Crick made many advancements in the study of DNA. Their experiments led many others to study molecular biology in their time, and ours. They discovered that DNA was a double helix. James and his partner actually ended up releasing an academic paper about their new discovery on February 28, 1953. Without their experiments, heredity and reproduction could not be understood. They unified everyone's thoughts on genetic transfer too. They also discovered that the function of DNA is determined by its form. They truly changed the playing field for molecular biology.

Fredrick Griffith was one of the most innovative scientists when it came to the history of DNA. His biggest achievement in this study was the transferring principle. Through an experiment with mice in 1928, he discovered that DNA is transferable through heredity. In this experiment, he got four different mice and injected them with different types of bacteria, all of which gave pneumonia. Two of the mice died and some of the bacteria were isolated from the mouse's tissue. This experiment led to his amazing revelation for his principle. His discoveries led to Oswald Avery's discovery about genetic material being DNA.

Mr. Chargaff played a very big role in the history of DNA. His work led to James Watson and Francis Crick's discoveries in the future. He also was a huge supporter of Oswald Avery's idea even though no one believed his claims. Chargaff's actual discovery is his observation in 1936-1948, that DNA varies from species to species. In relation, he discovered different species have a different number of bases in them. This helped prove Avery's theory that DNA is genetic material instead of proteins. He truly did help the history of DNA.
