This year's 2016 Rio Olympics opening ceremony was filled with different cultures and a great positive vibe. This 5 hour extravaganza kick-started this years Olympics with the qualities of unity, friendliness and prosperity. It was filled with beautiful colors, flags from all over 200 countries, cultural music and each countries National Anthem. One thing that stood out to me the most, that showed unifying nations was the torch bearing ceremony. This was where they passed on the torch through every country that was participating and finally lit the Olympic cauldron. Having an opening ceremony is very important to have in the Olympics. It promotes the Olympic core values and a sense of unity, to use throughout the event. Overall, the ceremony itself was a sight to be seen.

The opening ceremony for the 2016 Olympics had happened in Rio, Brazil. The Olympics was a phenomenal event that happened on Saturday. It had demonstrated the unique and vast cultures of Brazil, and how diverse of a country it is. It also had a variety of performances that had also given the international audience an outlook on the country. The opening ceremony had also showed the togetherness of the country as a whole. For example, they showed how all the different races and cultures came together , despite their differences. As they did say, " We are all different, yet still are the same." This shows that they have, or are trying to accept the fact that they are all different, but in the end they're all human. This has a really positive impact on not only Brazil as a country, but the entire world. It had the power to make everybody understand that we are all different, and we should embrace. In conclusion the Olympics opening was a great event, & everyone should take the time to watch it. :'

The opening ceremony of the Rio Olympic Games was a spectacular and exciting event which was filled with pride, an energetic atmosphere, fireworks, entertaining performances and most importantly, cultural diversity. The Olympics is an event which brings together all of the nations of the world through many sporting events. This year's opening ceremony was a ceremony that was brought together using many entertaining purposes. There are many ways as to how a country would represent their culture in the Rio Olympics. For example, during the parade, the flag bearers for NZ were wearing a Maori piece of clothing, which represents NZ's deep connection with Maori culture. Another example is shown when the performers were dancing to the host country's cultural music, in the cultural costumes. Also at the beginning of the ceremony, there was a stage play which was about the history of Rio. These examples of culture portrayed in the Olympic games shows that this year's opening ceremony showed a ton of cultural diversity through many tactics of entertainment. After all, cultural diversity is important to everyone.

The opening ceremony is a ceremony that unifies nations, excites the world, introduces athletes and brings a vibrant atmosphere to the world. When the Olympic Cauldron is passed on throughout all competing countries, it signifies every nation coming together for the 2016 Brazil Olympics. The opening ceremony is a critical part of the Olympics. It starts off the Olympics and sets the whole mood for the Olympics. It brings nations together and celebrates years of the Olympic games. It's a time where countries can forget about all the competition and sporting events and just dance, smile, sing and have fun. It's a chance for countries to showcase their culture to the world. The Olympics wouldn't be the same without the opening ceremony.

Culture is a feature that defines someone’s identity. Ideals, social behaviour and beliefs are all important aspects of culture. The Rio 2016 Olympic games explicitly showed the culture of each unique country, through costumes, performances and flags. Great Britain was an illustration of an impactful presentation. Male athletes wore a slim-fitting jacket with a classic white shirt, and shorts. Female athletes wore white jackets and blue shirts and the very epitome of British fashion - a blue skirt. These symbolize the important aspects of British culture and fashion as they represent the country’s colors, those colors exemplify the meaning behind the flag. The Olympic games showcase the pride in a country’s culture, something that everyone in the world should definitely see.
