I am so excited to see the beautiful children in their adorable uniforms and school clothes. I felt a short rush of air as we left the forest and entered the city. We came to a sudden stop, short and fast. We were at the stoplight. When our light turned red theirs turned green. Short children ran across the road following the path the cross guard directed them. Tall grown women in dress clothes following the children's steps. I noticed every kid stopped at the end of the street to clasp their hands together, raise them to their forehead, and bring their head down to bow to an elder. Our light turned green. Up ahead was a busy market, full of different varieties of people and food. The people were different heights and different shades of browns and tans. The food looked fresh from this morning. I am going to go to a simple restaurant tonight ,and to see a common market tomorrow morning. This restaurant was a small hut, like settlement, but I could smell the delicious fried noodles and warm steamed treats. I noticed that everyone eating around me had rice on almost every plate. They first offered some mouth watering rice and fruity sweats or desserts, but I decided to go with a real meal first. I ordered some fried Thai noodles. Since I was here to learn and discover, and I wanted to learn the secrets of Thailand so I asked this wonderful chef if he would mind telling me the recipe to some of his foods. He gladly cooperated. There were lotus flowers and Buddhist angles also painted on the walls. Buddhism is about 94% of Thailand’s population, ”World Religions Reference Library”. I noticed other religions while I was there, Malaysian, Muslim, Taoism, and Confucianism. Siddhartha Gautama, also known as Buddha, or the enlightened one, Is the founder of Buddhism. He searched for six years for the meaning of life. I am at the Siam Paragon mall ready to buy some new items to add to my souvenir collection. I mean, at this amazing mall what isn't there to buy? From cool little gadgets to red hot fashion. My morning was spent strolling through the mall. The bright early sun glistened through the sheer, tinted, blue glass surrounding the building. The first store I walked into was Pratunam, a well known fashion district among locals. It varies from street fashion to daily trends you must have. My best purchase was a silk, flowy dress perfect for this weather, and very comfortable. I spent most of my day at the mall getting cute accessories and other objects. I got a key chain that was wood carved. Beautiful waves that had scented paint coated around the carving, hung on the chain attached to my keys. To end my day I stopped at a cute little coffee shop. It smelled absolutely wonderful as soon as I walked in. My coffee was perfect temperature with sweet milk mixed in. The caramel sunk to the bottom which was the perfect little surprise at the end. In the present time, education is free to to the Thai nationals up to the age 13, which will satisfy their academic requirements, according to culture grams. To be a Thai national you have to have at least one parent that is registered in Thailand. International schools teach in language and styles that are familiar to children. They offer many healthy foods and catering that please the home-country demand. I will definitely miss the people and culture. The food was absolutely exotic and delicious, I could probably eat this for the rest of my life. The people were so kind and willing to help me out. I would have been completely lost if it weren't for the generosity of Thailand. I was able to buy a few new things and I was able to meet the children and learn about their education. It made me so happy to see how other people live in a whole new realm of environment. Everything about Thailand is jaw dropping, the food, people, beaches, culture, schools, buildings, and more. They will definitely see more of me, but for now, goodbye Thailand.
