            In contrast to Malaysia's fast paced-progress,Pangkor remains a haven for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and at the same time ,soak up the sun on its golden beaches.Visitors  are charmed by the serenity of its fishing villages ,its small but bustling towns and its splendid selection of the world class holiday resorts.It gets very busy during school and public holidays.So,it is not surprising to find approxiamately 2000 holidaymakers left without a place to stay  on the island during the Chinese New Year and the school holiday period.This happened because many of the tourists assumed that there would be plenty of accommodations available on the island and reservations  were not necessary.

         Access is via a ferry from Lumut .Pangkor village is a busy little place with a lot of activities ,particularly  in the early hours of the morning when fresh produce from fishermen are brought in for the local community 's daily needs.No wonder tourists will never forget the sumptuous seafood meals they had at the quaint restaurants along the beach.They are amazed at how fresh the seafood is and how unbelievably
