Understanding and respecting culture as a teacher in the classroom is very important because it motivates inclusivity. Culture could mean many things such as religion, socioeconomic levels, language, cultural standards and values. Trying our best as a teacher is very important because culture differences effect how we learn. For example, some students might not use technology, and others might spend all their time on video games. You also might have some students who hug as a greeting in their cultures and others might not. Overall, it's important to teach all of our students how to respect each other's cultures.

Valuing diversity in the classroom and encouraging ongoing self assignments is important for the child's character development. Having a teacher who is a role model encourage students to value their culture and dig deep helps the child appreciate who they are. Having a star student assignment every week encourages that student to evaluate on themselves and also exposes other students to different backgrounds.
Impact of Implicit Bias on Teacher Perceptions

Having implicit bias as a teacher can not only affect student relationships but also parent relationships. For example, if you were to have a teacher Parent meeting and you judged the parent based off the way they looked or based off one characteristic it might affect your relationship with the student. It also might cause you to treat the student differently because of the parents or treat the parents differently because of the student.
