Opening Question -- I think that Julius Caesar was a Roman hero because he was a brilliant military leader in war , and also a great emperor. Although he was a dictator he did care for his people and as said in the article "extremely nice."
Additional Question 3- One of Caesar's actions was crossing the Rubicon to start the verge of civil war between him and Pompey .
Additional Question 4- History portray's Caesar as a tyrant and hero. As a hero he is portrayed as a great emperor, but as a tyrant a powerful dictator ruling over Rome in a harsh way.

Opening Question- In my opinion, Julius Caesar was a tyrant. This is because he was a man obsessed with power. This lead to him declaring himself dictator for life, in which he abused his power.Caesar manipulated people to get what he wanted, such as the role of consul. The Senate almost declared him "Enemy of the State". Caesar started a civil war just because he didn't want to resign, while doing that, he committed treason. He got so out of hand that the Senate had to end him and his reign.
Additional Questions-
1. Caesar's good qualities were that he was a natural-born leader a "brilliant" military leader, and he was ambitious, which helped him conquer and make accomplishments. Some of Caesar's bad qualities involve, being obsessed with power, taking advantage of people for himself, and always having his way.
2. Some of Caesar's supporters include, some of the Roman citizens and some of his army. A few of his enemies include Pompey, the Senate, some of the citizens, some of his army, some of the people he conquered, etc.
3. Caesar started a civil war in the Roman Republic, even though generals were forbidden from crossing the Rubicon River with a standing army. This is because he wanted to confront Pompey, who wanted Caesar to lose his position. Pompey held power in Rome and was against Caesar. Pompey agreed with the Senate on the idea that Caesar resign his command and disband his army.
4. Historians portray Caesar from two different points of view. The first is as an excellent leader to Rome. They think this because he conquered places for Rome, he was a "brilliant" military leader, and he was able to manipulate people for his or Rome's benefits. On the other hand, historians can also portray him as a tyrant who took advantage of his power and of people. This is because he manipulated people to get what he wanted , he had many enemies, he started a civil war in Rome, he broke some laws, etc. I personally picture him as a tyrant. However, he is an important historical figure either way.

Opening Question: Was Julius Caesar a Roman hero or a tyrant? I think Julius Caesar was a hero because he was a great military leader. He was perfect in the use of arms, was an accomplished horseback rider, and able to endure extreme fatigue. In addition, he was a great speaker and able to change peoples minds with the force of his words.
Question 1: What were Caesar’s good qualities or characteristics? What were Caesar’s bad qualities or characteristics? Caesar's good qualities were his strong military experience and his ability to be a strong speaker. His bad qualities are his desire for a higher power and his sometimes his arrogance, which is what got him killed.
Question 2: Who supported Caesar? Who was against Caesar? People that support Caesar were the citizens/Plebeians. People that were against Caesar were Pompey and the Senate.
Question 3: How did Caesar justify his actions? Caesar justified his actions, which was crossing the Rubicon, because Pompey had told Caesar to resign and disband his army because he was getting too popular. They were on the verge of civil war, which started when Caesar crossed the Rubicon.
Question 4: How does history portray Caesar? Some historical records portray Julius Caesar was a dictator who wanted to turn Rome into an empire and gain as much as power as possible. Other historians portray Julius Caesar as powerful speaker, and someone popular with the citizens; or as a good person.

For example, in "Socratic Seminar: A Portrait of Julius Caesar", "He (Julius) wore the (special toga only Roman senators could wear)".
The first is as an exellent

Opening Question -- I think that Julius Caesar was a Roman hero because he was a brilliant military leader in war , and also a great emperor. Although he was a dictator he did care for his people and as said in the article "extremely nice."
