He is consumed by dreams and hallucinations and then starts to see visions and believes that the pig is the lord of the flies and tries to reveal the truth about the beast to the rest of the boys . He is accidentally murdered by Ralph and the other boys. Simon likes to keep the island in working order as well as piggy. Simon's death represents the loss of innocent people.

He attempts to establish leadership but is eventually corrupted  by his power. He is a born leader, a bully,  brave and a little bit evil. These traits are what take him to lead the murder of simon. Ralph is the perfect representation of the evil that we all have inside of us but we choose to hide.
