The bacteria mutates and transforms into a new strand because hospitals are using the anitbiotics so much that it doesn't work on them anymore so they can survive, spreading from patient to patient especially since their immune systems are down. They are all around these medicines so they are becoming resistant and learning how to live with them. And soon the bacteria learns how to become resistant to all the easily accessible antibiotics that most of the population receives.
Abby A, Austin A, Karma C, Benjamin C.

Antibiotic resistance occurs through natural selection when a genetic mutation takes place or when the bacteria alters its shape or form. This will cause some of the bacteria to become resistant to the antibiotic. Therefore, the bacteria reduces the antibiotic’s effect on the bacteria. This bacteria will survive and continue to reproduce.

Haley, Zabian, Deven, Timothy

https://goo.gl/images/MJqig9

Bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics are becoming common in hospitals because of random mutations and the bacteria can’t be treated so it is going from person to person and the perfect place for a bacteria to spread is in a hospital. Sometimes when they are patients in the hospital who are really sick and have a bad immune system the antibiotics might not be strong enough to help the immune system fight bacteria. -sydney, emma, kristin, & jasmine.

Since there are so many people in the hospital there are many bacteria’s and germs spreading. They have adapted to their environment and that has allowed them to do a lot of harmful things. They have been able to survive because of all the other bacteria’s and that has made them able to reproduce and create more. All of the bacteria’s are becoming resitant to the antibiotics because of the mutations created from the reproduction that has been allowed in the hospital.
