A lack of support and counseling for trauma leads to a higher probability of a student dropping out of high school. When counselors are aware of the trauma they are able to help a student through it and increase the graduation rates for all students. The repeated acts of trauma are more damaging than single acts of trauma and the repeated abuse has lasting effects that change the way a student engages in the lessons and their opinions of school. Before participating in the study they asked questions and I found it interesting that my predictions were mostly accurate. I believe the results may be skewed due to my tiredness at the time of taking the test. I feel the results were more skewed because of the way the questions were presented. Part of the test comes down to speed when answering questions and having to process choices being flipped to a different hand. I think I will work hard to remember not to stereotype based on gender as far as careers and families.
