Thompson, Samel, and Swanson were headed up to the bus in the wood. There they find the body of Chris McCandless, who has been dead for two and a half weeks.

This was the day troopers came to the bus on their helicopter and took back Chris's remains and everything he had with him back to town.

Westerberg picked up a hitchhiker in Montana, who ended up being Chris but going by Alex. Westerberg then ended up giving Chris (Alex) a job at one of his grain elevators a couple weeks later.

Chris McCandless left Carthage after Westerberg got arrested so therefor there was no work for him, so no reason to stay there.

Chris graduated from Emory University with about 24,000 dollars remaining in his collage fund, a couple of weeks later he would donate every last penny of it to OXFAM charity. He then would pack up his car and vanish from his families life's forever.

Chris got a ticket for hitchhiking and his parents received it, and they were so scared that they hired a privet investigator, which ended up coming with nothing about Chris's where bouts.

Chris had been exploring all of Arizona for the past month, when he decided to send a letter to Westerberg, where he was doing time to thank him for everything and hopes to see him again in the future to thank him some more.

Chris is currently in Mexico in the canals when he gets lost looking for an outlet to the sea, and in desperate need he comes across duck hunters took him to the golf of California where he is finally where he wants to be.

Chris abandoned his boat and is now decided to head up North after a rough journey in the sea, he hasen't spoke to anyone in 36 days.

Chris makes it all the way to Las Vegas, and while on the road he ended up losing about 30 pounds, but now has a job at an Italian Restaurant for only about 30 days, leaving on May 10.

After leaving Las Vegas in May 1991, he ended up in Bullhead City, Arizona he stayed there for about two months getting a full-time job at McDonald’s, and even opening a savings account in town.

The last known moment of Waterman place on Ruth Glacier, when he was said to be way less cautious on this trip than any other ones he has been on. Waterman was kind of going crazy by this point but like McCandless he was a guy who never walked out of the Alaskan wilderness.

New had spread about the dead hiker in Alaska. One of Westerberg's employees called him, telling him to listen in because it sounded like Alex. Westerberg ended up calling Alaskan state troopers and gave them Chris's name and his social security number.
