Having the lesson objective clearly displayed and unpacked for students allows ALL students to have access to the goal of the lesson and what skills they should be working on in the lesson. Students should know what they are doing, how they are doing it and why they are doing it to effectively meet the lesson objective.

Building strong community with students and creating a safe, learning environment for them. With instruction, posting the learning objectives and unpacking them is a way to know what is expected of them and to know what they are going to learn by the end of the lesson.

Modeling in the classroom allows for students to have a visual for their solution process. By following the plan, structure is maintained toward drafting a method to complete a task. Observing this from the perspective of the educator, provides an opportunity to notice strength and weakness in student learning.
