The pipeline will cross North and South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. The tribe the pipeline effects is the Sioux tribe. The Sioux want to protect their water they are using while the pipeline will destroy that. The sheriff's believe the Sioux are trespassing and arrest them.

Some benefits are the pipeline will decrease the reliance on foreign oil. Also free up railroads to transport. The pipeline gives a huge economic growth. Some drawbacks are the pipeline threatens the water supply of Standing Rock Sioux and anyone living downstream. Sioux sacred land is being used for the building of the pipeline.

The people against the pipeline say it effects their drinking water they need in order to survive. Also the land being used for the building of this pipeline is scared to them. The people for the pipeline say the building of the pipeline will be a big economy booster and will create many construction jobs. Also the pipeline will allow oil to be transferred between four different states.

My thoughts are to build the pipeline, but in a different area to keep the Sioux environment scared and safe. This pipeline is a great idea for transporting oil. Although it is putting lives in danger. Building it in a different will make the Sioux happy and the pipeline will still be built.
