1994-1995 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında okulumuz ilköğretim okuluna dönüştürüldüğünden adı Balgat İlköğretim Okulu olmuştur.

31.05.2005 tarih ve 715/262 sayı ve tarih ile "Eğitime % 100 Destek Projesi" kapsamında hayırsever Hüseyin Hüsnü TEKIŞIK tarafından okulumuzun büyük onarımı ile her türlü donanım işleri 2005 yılında Haziran, Temmuz ve Ağustos aylarında yapılarak okulumuzun mevcut ismi "Ayten Tekışık Ortaokulu" olarak değiştirilmiştir.

Our school was planned as a 21-classroom school in 1973 and opened for education as Balgat Middle School in the 1974-1975 Academic Year. Our school was established on an area of ​​10,100 m² and Balgat took its name from the district it is located in.

In the 1994-1995 Academic Year, our school was converted into a primary school and its name became Balgat Elementary School.

Within the scope of the "100% Support for Education Project" dated 31.05.2005 and numbered 715/262, the major repair of our school and all kinds of equipment works were carried out by the philanthropist Hüseyin Hüsnü TEKIŞIK in June, July and August of 2005 and the current name of our school was changed to "Ayten Tekışık Middle School".

Okulda 1 müdür, 2 müdür yardımcısı ve 52 öğretmen görev yapmaktadır. Toplam 31 derslikte yaklaşık 995 öğrenciye tam gün eğitim verilmektedir. Ayrıca, 1 özel eğitim sınıfı, 3 idareci odası, 1 öğretmenler odası, 2 rehberlik servisi, 1 tasarım ve beceri atölyesi, 1 bilişim sınıfı, 1 kütüphane, 1 zeka oyunları sınıfı, 1 konferans salonu, 1 mescit ve 1 halı saha bulunmaktadır.

Okulun vizyonu, her yerde ve her zaman başarılı olacak, geleceğe şimdiden hazır, 21. yüzyılın yaratıcı, dünyaya uyumlu, sorunlara çözüm getiren, girişken, yurtsever, yüksek donanımlı, üretken, ahlaklı, dinamik ve öğrenmeyi seven bireylerini yetiştirerek Türkiye'nin önde gelen okulları arasında yer almak ve uluslararası düzeyde adını duyurmaktır.
