A cycle of conflict and cooperation regarding slavery contributed to the eventual secession of the South because of disagreement within the states, and uncertainty within the citizens of which side to support. This caused a major debate on which side to support while the North was getting heated due to slavery being expanded.

The Missouri Compromise of 1820 contributed to the cycle of conflict and cooperation by dividing and balancing slave states. It divided the U.S into rivals. The South depended heavily on slaves; this act restricted slavery in certain territories which they took as a threat to society and production. In addition, not having full reign in congress against the North was a minority to which they replied with repellent and slowly departing from the Union.

The Mexican-American War of 1846, contributed to the cycle of conflict and cooperation by encouraging manifest destiny. The U.S claimed 500,000 square miles of land from Mexico which the South saw as an opportunity and advantage to claim as slave states. This was a disadvantage for the North. The North wanted to expand their society and industrialization, not slavery, which led to a greater division between the North and South which encouraged the Civil War.

The Fugitive slave Act of 1850, contributed to the cycle of conflict and cooperation by inputting harsher penalties on runaway slaves. Citizens felt pressured to choose a side due to laws being spit out back and forth, about slavery which angered Northern abolitionists attempting to abolish Slavery. This split the two and caused an uproar between citizens and laws, which soon caused the war between the two.

I'd like to see you work on sentence structure and writing mechanics. It was sometimes difficult to follow your line of thinking.
