Technology is a powerful tool for constructivism’s main principle that learners learn by doing. It works well with technology because it supports collaborative, interactive and student-centered learning. This partnership also has a positive effect on learner attitudes because they feel more successful, are motivated to learn and have better self-confidence. Constructivism is simply about questioning, investigating, autonomy and personal expressions of knowledge. Technology allows for investigating, explorations and self-expression. Effective use of technology helps children to be more collaborative, allow them to learn at their own pace.
Samina Jamal

The theory speaks about addressing the inner mental activities. The learners are considered as word processors. Technology helps learners to think out of the box and do a certain task differently. If technology is selected wisely its allows learners to do wonders and reach the redefinition model of samr model. The theory speaks about working out of the box approach where students are not limited but allowed to explore a certain technology and use it differently.

Karen Stephenson states: “Experience has long been considered the best teacher of knowledge. Since we cannot experience everything, other people’s experiences, and hence other people, become the surrogate for knowledge. ‘I store my knowledge in my friends’ is an axiom for collecting knowledge through collecting people (undated).”

This is the gist of Connectivism. Here technology can a huge impact. By connecting ourselves and our learners with people all over the world we can enhance experience and knowledge in ways not possible without the use of technology. When we conduct research or give research based assignments to our learners they seek this information through the internet - Google, from friends or family or others they meet or interact with. The wider and more global their reach to access this knowledge and experience base the more enhanced their own understanding. Especially in the digital age where knowledge and information is increasing extremely rapidly, keeping pace with this is not possible for us on a personal base. We cannot personally experience or acquire all this knowledge ourselves, hence the need to build connections. Technology can help us do this.

This theory is relatively simple to understand because it relies only on observable behavior and describes several universal laws of behavior. Its positive and negative reinforcement techniques can be very effective– such as in treatments for human disorders including autism, anxiety disorders and antisocial behavior. Behaviorism is often used by teachers who reward or punish student behaviors.
